Surrender
Surrendering your cat
We are only able to take surrenders when we have capacity to do so. If you have a cat to surrender, please fill in our Surrender Form, providing as much detail as possible, and we will get in touch.
We do not charge surrender fees, but we greatly appreciate any donations to help cover the care of your cat while we find it a new home.
Stray cats
If the cat is injured or sick: handle the cat only if safe and take it to a vet immediately.
If the cat appears healthy:
Ask your neighbors if they know the cat.
Post on the Tasmanian Lost Pets Register (Facebook).
Put up flyers in your area.
If no one responds and the cat is still unclaimed, contact us or a local vet for a (free) microchip scan. If the cat has no microchip, please fill out our Surrender Form. Note that we can only accept surrenders if we have the capacity.
Found kittens (with or without mother)
If kittens appear clean and calm and are in a safe location, do not touch them. It is important they are not removed so mum can also be rescued, and they are not separated. Call us for assistance.
If kittens are dirty, cold, in distress, injured or in a dangerous location, carefully collect them and place in a secure box or carrier. Keep them warm and quiet. Call us for assistance.
