Adopting a cat or kitten

How do I adopt a cat or kitten?

Start by filling in the Adoption Application form. If there’s a specific cat or kitten you’re interested in meeting, please mention this on the form.

Otherwise, please describe the type of cat or kitten you’d be interested in meeting and also provide plenty of information about you and your household, including other pets at home.

We do our very best to match up each cat and kitten with their perfect home. We want to set you, your new kitty, and your existing pets up for success.

Remember, we are always preparing cats for adoption, so your perfect fit might be yet to come!

When can I meet the cats available for adoption?

We do adoptions by appointment in Dodges Ferry (including evenings and weekends) and at our monthly events in the greater Hobart area. Once we receive your adoption application, we’ll get in touch as soon as possible.

What is included in each adoption package?

Every cat and kitten ready for adoption will have been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated, and will have received any necessary veterinary care. Sometimes booster vaccines are needed after adoption - this is not included in the adoption package.

What is the trial period?

All cats and kitten are adopted under a trial basis. This includes a 7-day trial period for kittens, and a 14-day trial period for cats. This gives you and your new family member time to adjust and get to know each other to create an amazing, loving connection. If adopting a very shy cat, talk to our team about extending the trial period or trying a foster-to-adopt arrangement.

What are the adoption fees?

  • $380 kitten

  • $270 adult cat

  • $500+ purebred cat

  • Or consider our ‘No Mum Left Behind’ program

What is the No Mum Left Behind program?

When adopting a kitten, you also have the option of adopting its mother - and we will waive the adoption fee for the mum. This helps to ensure both cats get the chance at a loving forever home.
